Less than a week earlier, the Highland Cougars spoiled Clark County’s Senior Night with a last minute three pointer. Last Monday, the Lady Indians returned the favor. The Lady Indians pulled off come-from-behind performance to edge the Lady Cougars. At the half, Clark County trailed 25-14, and late in the third quarter, they trailed by a dozen points.
Clark County put on a 12-0 scoring run to tie the contest, then battled to overcome a Cougar three-pointer. Midway through the final quarter, Clark County held a 43-39 lead, but Highland fought back to tie the game with 36 seconds remaining.
Brooke Wheeler hit a jumper to give the Indians a lead again, and the Lady Indian defense did its job for the rest of the contest. Brooke Wheeler led the Lady Indians with 14 points. Cady Flood and Megan Brennan had 10 each. Chelsea Edmondson had eight, and Morgan Bertelli had four points. Jorden Plenge added one point.
