Knox County placed four players on the Northeast Missouri Sportswriters and Sportscaster’s Association Class 2 All-District Basketball Teams.
Lorrie Peters and Justin Reeves were first team all district selections. Stacey Leckbee and Tristan Lonberger were second team all district picks.
All four Knox County MSSA all district selections were previously named to the 2010 Tri-Rivers All Conference basketball teams.
Lorrie Peters, Justin Reeves, Stacey Leckbee and Tristan Lonberger were previously named to the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association Class 2, All District 14 basketball teams.
Knox County senior Lorrie Peters and Justin Reeves averaged a double double this season. Statistics for Knox County post season honorees were listed in the March 17, 2010 edition of the Edina Sentinel.
The 2009-10 Tri-County All Conference basketball teams were not made available to the Edina Sentinel before the March 17 issue publication deadline.
The MSBA Class 1, All District 11 basketball teams have not been released to the Edina Sentinel as of this writing.
Five Brashear Tigers earned all conference honors. Juniors Stephanie Elsea and Abby McKim along with freshman Shelby Salter were 2010 all conference girls’ selections.
Brashear seniors Anthony Ambrosia and Matt Thomas were Tri-County Conference first team all conference boy’s picks. Anthony Ambrosia scored 15.7 points per game for the 7-17 Tigers. Ambrosia sank 78% of his free throw attempts.
The Tiger senior guard averaged 6.8 rebounds and 2.3 assists per contest Anthony Ambrosia scored 19.1 points per game in conference play. Anthony Ambrosia was selected to the Missouri Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association (MSSA) Class 1 Boy’s All District First Team.
Four year starting point guard Matt Thomas scored 12.9 points per contest in his senior year. The Westminster University bound baseball pitcher averaged 5.8 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game. Thomas averaged 14.9 points and 4.8 assists per game in conference play.
Matt Thomas was selected to the 2010 Tri-County All Conference Boy’s First team and to the MSSA Class 1 All District Boy’s Second Team.
Junior guard Stephanie Elsea scored 8.5 points per game for the 6-19 Lady Tigers. Elsea averaged 3.2 rebounds and two assists per contest.
Stephanie Elsea was a 2010 Tri-County Conference Girls’ First Teamer. Elsea was selected to the MSSA Class 1 All District Girl’s Second Team.
Freshman guard Shelby Salter averaged 6.6 points, two and a half rebounds and 2.1 assists per contest. Shelby Salter was named to the 2010 Tri-County All Conference Girls’ Second Team.
Junior Abby McKim averaged 4.6 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game. Abby McKim was named to the 2010 Tri-County All Conference Girl’s Honorable Mention Team.
