JOHN W. ZAHN

John William Zahn, age 68, of Labelle, Missouri, died Saturday April 17, 2010, in the Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois.
He was born October 30, 1941, in Knox County, Missouri, the son of Steven and Margaret Pulse Zahn.
He was united in marriage to Connie Graham and to this union three children were born.
Surviving is his companion Linda Goodson of LaBelle, Missouri, four children, John D. Zahn of Burlington, Iowa, Leslie and Jodie Zahn of Osage, Iowa, Marla and Rick Jones of Burlington, Iowa, and Katie and Clint Aycock of Labelle, Missouri, five brothers and sisters, Jim Zahn of LaBelle, Missouri, Marsha and Bob Hemme of Marshall, Missouri, Mary and Dale Jacobs of Canton, Missouri, Richard Zahn of LaGrange, Missouri, and Don Zahn of LaBelle, Missouri, eight grandchildren, Elle, Keyten, Cody, Zachary, Samatha, Jessica, Jenna and Jobe, one great grandchild and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
John was preceded in death by his parents.
John graduated from LaBelle High School and attended University of Missouri. He had been employed as a typesetter for Canton Press News Journal, Burlington Hawkeye and the LaBelle Star. John was also a mechanic.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading, listening to country music Wednesday night at Carls Shop and spending time with friends, family, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 21, 2010, at the LaBelle Cemetery. Reverend Joe Jorgensen will officiate the services.
Casket bearers will be Randy Gene Zahn, Ronnie Hutcherson, Kile Austin, Kelly Austin, Chad Zahn and Lewis Bradley.
Honorary bearers will be Dale Jacobs, Wade Goodson, Rick Goodson and Bob Hemme. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 20, 2010, at the Coder Funeral Chapel in LaBelle, Missouri.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions to the John Zhan Memorial Fund or the Labelle Christian Church.
