EUVANAH M. EWALT



Euvanah Marie Ewalt, 88, of Edina, Missouri, died Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at the Knox County Nursing Home in Edina, Missouri.


Euvanah was born on March 1, 1922, in Kilbourne, Illinois, the daughter of William Bernard and Maude Elizabeth Nipper Hall.


She attended Kilbourne School before moving to Missouri with family. She worked at the Golden Belle and the LaBelle Manor both of LaBelle, Missouri.


On May 7, 1960, in the Knox City United Methodist Church of Knox City, Missouri, Euvanah married Byron Fred Ewalt and next week they would have celebrated 50 years together.


She was a member of the Bee Ridge United Methodist Church and since moving to Edina she sang in the Christian Church Choir. She was also a member of the Knox City American Legion Auxiliary Post #368, and the John Deere Two Cylinder Club and enjoyed driving the tractors in parades.


Euvanah is survived by her husband, Byron Ewalt of Edina, Missouri; a son, Marshall Lynn and his wife Beverly Ewalt of St. Peters, Missouri; a daughter, Deanna and her husband Larry Hubbard of Cantril, Iowa; a daughter-in-law, Margaret Vannaken of LaGrange, Missouri; a brother, William B. Hall of Bakersfield, California; three grandchildren, Alice Vericker of Washington, Illinois, Eric and his wife Jessica Vannaken of Canton, Missouri and Sarah Ewalt of St. Peters, Missouri; she celebrated with her grandchildren as one of five generations of girls, five great grandchildren, Danielle and her husband Cody Beard, Amber and Allyson Vericker, and Dalton and Hannah Vannaken; two great great grandchildren, Victoria and Harley Beard; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.


She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Maude Hall; a son, Darrell Vannaken; a grandson, Daniel Hubbard; three brothers, Raymond, Edward, and Donald Lee Hall; three sisters, Mabel McDonough, Mildred Masten, and Harriet Goveia.


Funeral Services were Saturday, May 1, 2010, at the Doss Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri.


Burial was in the Park View Memorial Gardens in Kirksville, Missouri.


Reverend Dewayne Wellborn officiated and Margaret Parrish provided music. Casket Bearers were Lynn Ewalt, Eric Vannaken, Timothy See, Freddie Bailey, Albert Ewalt and Bob Glasgow.
