BETTY E. MILLER
Betty Ellen Miller (Wilson) was born in Lewis County, Missouri on August 5, 1925, the daughter of Hugh and Monie Mae Morgan Wilson. She died in Columbia, Missouri on June 16, 2010, at the age of 84.
Betty grew up on the family farm near LaBelle, Missouri and graduated from LaBelle High School. She often shared happy memories of the farm where she developed interests that continued throughout her life, including gardening, pets, and cooking. She married John Brooking Miller on September 27, 1945. While John served in the Navy, he and Betty enjoyed living in various places including Maine, Virginia, and Washington D.C. After his discharge from the service, they lived in Florissant, Missouri and then in 1981, retired to Lebanon, Missouri. Their home was the site of many family gatherings that included croquet games and pitch tournaments, both of which Betty excelled at. Having played basketball in high school, she remained an avid fan all her life. She also enjoyed bowling and reading.”
John preceded Betty in death on October 30, 2009. Also deceased are her brothers Russell and Rolland Wilson and sisters Marguerite Morgan and Helen Shinn.
Betty is survived by her brothers R.N. (Bill) Wilson and Wallace Wilson; her sister Virginia Brodnan; daughter Lucinda Signaigo of Columbia, Missouri, daughter Lisa Miller and her husband, Phil Hennessy of Phoenix Arizona; grandchildren Jon-Michael Signaigo, Amanda Signaigo, and Nora Hennessy; and great grandson, Ryan Owens.
Memorial services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 26, 2010, at the Coder Funeral Chapel in LaBelle, Missouri. Pastor Joe Jorgensen will officiate the services.
Burial will be in the LaBelle Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. till time of services at 10:30 a.m. in the Coder Funeral Chapel in LaBelle, Missouri.
