Smith Resigns As Indian Football Coach
Matt Smith has resigned his position as the head varsity football coach at Clark County R-1 Schools, according to a Friday morning press release.
Smith, who has been the coach for the past 10 years, is giving up the job to spend more time with his family.
During his ten years, he earned an 86-27 record, capturing four conference and six consecutive district titles (2005-2010). Smith led the Indians to their only team state championship in 2008, winning the MSHSAA Class 2 title.
Smith will continue with the school district as physical education instructor and varsity boys track coach.
A search for a new head coach will begin immediately
