CHARLES V. HAMM

Charles Virgil Hamm, age 75, of rural Knox City, MO, died Wednesday, August 10, 2011, at his home northwest of Knox City, MO.


He was born at Sherman, Illinois on July 14, 1936, the son of John Woodrow and Alta Louise Richardson Hamm.


He was united in marriage to Lois Ann Joy on August 5, 1956 at Jacksonville, IL. Surviving are his wife Lois Ann Hamm of Knox City, MO, four children, Dianna Lynn Follis and husband Jeff of Bluffs, IL, twins Jim Hamm and wife Diane of Edina, MO and Tim Hamm and wife Ruby of Denver, CO, and Katie Geho of Kirksville, MO, grandchildren, James and Amy Follis of Chatham, IL, Jennifer and Michael Lacey of Jacksonville, IL, Robbie and Melissa Hamm of Memphis, MO, Michelle Hamm of Morton, IL, Beth Hamm of Minier, IL, Madison and Garrison Geho of Kirksville, MO, great grandchildren Brandyn and Rheagan Lacey, Hilary Hamm, Angelina and Abby Hamm, one brother Willis Hamm and wife Ruth of Callao, MO and one sister Mary Wardell and husband Jack of Murrayville, IL, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.


Mr. Hamm was born in Sherman, IL and received his education at Williamsville and Chapin, IL. Charles worked as a crane operator until 1976, when he moved to rural Knox City, MO where he was engaged in farming. He enjoyed coffee shop visits, eating, farming, fishing and time spent with his family.


His wishes were to be cremated. No visitation or services will be held. Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO is in charge of the arrangements.
