J. RALPH HOUSE



James Ralph House, age 92 of Edina, MO, died Tuesday, October 4, 2011, at the Knox County Nursing Home in Edina, MO.


He was born July 28, 1919, at Wyaconda, MO, the son of James D. and Mattie Lee Carder House.


He was united in marriage to Louise Agnes Kriegshauser on January 23, 1951, at Edina, MO and she preceded him in death on March 21, 1981, also preceding him in death were his parents.


Surviving are his dear companion Norma Burditt of Edina, MO, four children, James Allen House and his wife Gail of Memphis, TN, Nelda Kathryn Harris and her husband Jack of Independence, KS, Monica (Monnie) Harrison and her husband Ron of Kirksville, MO, and Tina Lee Revling and her husband Gary of Des Peres, MO, and eight grandchildren, Sean Harrison, Kevin Harrison and his wife Chelsea, Brandon Harrison, Ian Revling, Bryce Revling, Taylor Revling, Alex House and Carson House.


Ralph received his education at Wyaconda, MO and graduated from LaBelle High School. In 1951, Ralph moved to Knox County where he was engaged in farming and raising cattle and hogs north of Edina. He was an active member of the Farm Bureau Association and had served as president in Knox County. Ralph was also a member of the American Hereford Association, American Polled Hereford Association, the Missouri Polled Hereford Association and the Northeast Missouri Polled Hereford Association. He bred and showed several champion steers for Northeast Missouri Fair and the Missouri State Fair. He also had numerous 4-H and FFA champion steers at the Missouri State Fair as well as the 1965 Champion Polled Hereford Steer and the Reserve Champion Steer at the American Royal. Ralph was also a member of the Missouri Duroc Association. Ralph loved golf, the St. Louis Cardinals and spending time with his children and grandchildren.


Funeral services were 11 a.m. Thursday, October 6, 2011, at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO. Father Mike Penn officiated the services. Burial was in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Casket bearers were Sean Harrison, Kevin Harrison, Brandon Harrison, Carson House, Tom Morgret, Alan Morgret, Bryce Revling and Ian Revling. Honorary bearers were Bob Glasgow, Don Harrison, Madelyn O`Brien, Jim Glasgow, Joe Gander, Eldon Klocke, Glen Klocke and Pete Bakutes.
