Julia May Pape, age 75, of Knox City, MO, died Tuesday, October 4, 2011, at her home north of Knox City, MO.
She was born August 15, 1936, at Tiskilwa, IL, the daughter of Dee Roy and Anna May Hoffman Pape. Julia was united in marriage to Charles Goodwin and to this union five children were born.
Surviving are three children, Anita Goodwin of Knox City, Missouri, Karen Green and husband Luther of Hurdland, MO and Scott Goodwin and wife Nancy of Knox City, MO, one sister, Lily Ann Turner of Ashland, MO, two brothers, Robert D. Pape of Rutledge, MO, and Dwight H. Pape and wife Dee of Knox City, MO, twelve grandchildren Heather Schrage, Michael Browning, Shawn Goodwin, Jacklyn Lee, Brandi Green, Julie Green, Anna Green, Corrina Dawson, Andrea Goodwin, Pharris Goodwin, Glen Goodwin, and Montana Wilcox, twenty-four great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Julia was preceded in death by her parents and two sons, one in infancy and Ronald Dean Goodwin and one brother Larry William Pape, one infant sister Mary Louise and a special friend Larry Allensworth.
Julia was raised in Knox County where she graduated from Knox City High School in 1954. She lived most of her life in Knox County where she was employed various places. Julia loved horses, hummingbirds, gardening, deer hunting and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Friday, October 7, 2011, at Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO. Reverend Paul Milliken officiated the services. Burial was in the Knox City Cemetery. Casket bearers were Shawn Goodwin, Pharris Goodwin, Glen Goodwin, Michael Browning, Jeremy Schrage and Richard Lee. Honorary bearers were Mark Peavler, Tony Cardwell, Les Cardwell, Larry Spray, Mike Hamlin and Darrin Evers.
