GARY L. SCHROER



Gary Louis Schroer, 60, of Edina, Missouri formerly of Higginsville, Missouri, died Thursday, October 27, 2011, at the Knox County Nursing Home in Edina, Missouri.


Gary was born on March 19, 1951, in Lexington, Missouri, the son of Frederick Louis and Marjorie Mae Williams Schroer.


He attended grade school and high school in Higginsville, Missouri and was employed for a number of years in Kansas City, Missouri, at the General Motors Plant. He also worked as custodian for the LaFayette County High School and the Sedalia Baptist Church before his health failed.


On August 21, 1971, in Sedalia, Missouri, Gary married Vivian Lea Hix and to this union two children were born.


Gary is survived by a son, Gary Lee Schroer and his companion Brandy White of Sedalia, Missouri; a daughter, Scherry and her husband Scott Krunze of Edina, Missouri; three brothers, Ronnie Schroer of Sedalia, Missouri, David and his wife Donna Schroer of Higginsville, Missouri and Rickie and his wife Marsha Schroer of Warsaw, Missouri; five grandchildren, Vivionna Schroer, Colebie Murry, and Reagan, Madeline and Zachary Winter; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.


Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Marjorie Schroer.


At his request his body was cremated and a family celebration and dinner will be held Saturday, November 19, 2011, at 12:30 p.m. at the Salem United Church of Christ in Higginsville, Missouri.
