CLARIBEL MYERS
Claribel Myers, age 103 of Knox City, MO, died Thursday, February 23, 2012, at the Knox County Nursing Home at Edina, MO.
She was born November 2, 1908 near Bridge Creek north of Knox City, MO. The oldest daughter of Roger Leslie and Leona Belle Whiteaker Myers. She was one of four children.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Harold Leslie and Marion Sherwood Myers, one sister Evelyn Eisentrager and two nephews Jim and Basil Dalton.
Surviving are two nephews, Joseph Myers and wife Donna of LaBelle, MO, and Loren Myers of LaBelle, MO, seven nieces, Bonnie Myers of Knox City, MO, Alma Waddle and husband Joe of Bloomfield, IA, Alta Hackbarth and husband Galen of Hampton, IA, Kay Brocksmith of Decatur, IL, Sharon Ann Davis and husband Larry of LaBelle, MO, Leslie Danihel and husband Mark of Carson City, NV, and Lynette Rosada of Tracy, CA.
Claribel graduated from Knox City High School. She worked at Colorado College in Colorado Springs, CO, until she retired after forty years. She then moved to Iowa in 1986, then to Knox City in 2000. Claribel enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed putting jigsaw puzzles together.
Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Sunday, February 26, 2012, at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO. Reverend Sam Smith officiated the services. Burial was in the Bee Ridge Cemetery. Music was provided by Brent Karhoff, soloist and Carol Hayes, organist. Casket bearers were Joe Myers, Larry Davis, Bill Brocksmith, Steve Brocksmith, Mike Myers and Todd Goodwin.
