Ruth Ann Brooks, 70, of Edina, Missouri (formerly of Monroe City, Missouri) died Sunday, March 11, 2012 at her home.

She was born February 3, 1942 in Monroe City, Missouri the daughter of Clarence Hamlin and Melissa Viola Cruser Lilly.

She was of the Methodist faith. Ruth was a 1959 graduate of Monroe City High School. She enjoyed watching television, playing cards, bingo, yatzee, most of all she loved spending time with all of her family and friends.

She married John Edward Brooks May 23, 1959 in Monroe City, he survives of the home.

Also surviving two daughters, Jodi Mayes and husband, Billy, of Blue Grass, IA; Jenny Mullanack and husband, Rick, of Muscatine, IA; two sons, Joey Brooks and wife, Malissa, of Spokane, MO; Jamie Brooks and girlfriend, Angel, of Buffalo, IA; one brother, Fred Lilly and wife, Cele, of Monroe City, MO; eleven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and by a special pet “Sis Cat”.

Funeral services were Thursday, March 15, 2012 at the Garner Funeral Chapel, Monroe City, Missouri. Rev. Charles Grubb officiated, burial was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Hunnewell, MO. Pallbearers were Paul “Mack” Beaver, Mike Brooks, Brian Brooks, Mark Elliott, Darren Brooks and Eric Lilly. Honorary pallbearers were Jerry Brooks, Pat Brooks, Dean Brooks, Richard “Cricket” Brooks, Don Brooks, Edward “Toot” Brooks, Terry Brooks, Greg Brooks, Brent Brooks, Brett Brooks, Warren Brooks, Evan Brooks, Allen Brooks, Derrick Brooks and Mark Lilly.

Memorials have been suggested to the Blessing Hospitality House, Quincy, IL.
