Fireworks Spark Tuesday Fire

The Clark County Rural Fire Department was called to the scene of a fire on Tuesday afternoon, about two miles northeast of Kahoka.  Upon arrival, they found that pile of corn cobs and several round hay bales were ablaze. 

Nearby, they found fireworks.

“It’s so dry out here,” said firefighter Larry Saxton.  “People need to be very careful with fireworks.”

“There’s nothing we can do with the bales,” said Mick Wood.  “We just have to let them burn themselves out.”
