Rose Mary White Bergheger

Rose Mary White Bergheger, 60, of Kahoka, Missouri, died at 1:37 AM Monday, October 29, 2012, at Keokuk Area Hospital.

Rose was born September 2, 1952, in Canton, Missouri, a daughter of August C. and Georgia H. Neves White. She married Clarence Bergheger on November 9, 1974 in Keokuk. He survives. She had recently moved to Kahoka, having lived in Keokuk since 1974. She worked in production at Sheller-Globe for 30 years, retiring in 2000.

Rose was raised in the Catholic faith, belonged to a secret sister organization, and was a breast cancer survivor. She loved to sew and made quilts and donated many for benefits and auctions. She made flower arrangements for special occasions and worked on jigsaw puzzles. She enjoyed camping, fishing, and riding and driving her Harley motorcycle. She especially enjoyed being with her family and doing for them and for others.

She is survived by her husband Clarence “C.W.” Bergheger of Kahoka; six children, Becky Bergheger of Keokuk, Douglas C. Bergheger and wife Krystal of Keokuk, Janette Dodd and husband James of Davenport, Iowa, Brian Bergheger and wife Becki of Keokuk, Scott Bergheger and wife Adarian of Keokuk and Eric and wife Jamie of Keokuk; twenty-six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers, Larry White and wife Mary Lou of Kahoka and Chris White and wife Stacy of Miller, Missouri; three sisters, Connie Billups and husband Walter of Luray, Missouri, Rachael Durst and husband Sam of Quincy, Illinois, Cathy McQueen and husband Jeremiah of Basco, Illinois; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, and a sister in infancy.

A celebration of her life will be at 1:30 PM Thursday, November 1, 2012, at DeJong-Greaves Celebration of Life Center at 917 Blondeau Street in Keokuk. Burial will be in Kahoka Cemetery in Kahoka, Missouri.

Visitation will be after 4:00 PM Wednesday, October 31, 2012, at DeJong-Greaves Celebration of Life Center at 917 Blondeau Street in Keokuk with family meeting friends from 6 to 8 Wednesday evening.

The family requests no flowers and that memorials be made to American Lung Association.
