Linda K. Chancellor-Butler
Linda Kay Chancellor-Butler, 63, of Quincy, Illinois, died Sunday, December 23, 2012, at the home of her mother in Memphis, Missouri.
Linda was born February 18, 1949 on a farm near Rutledge, Missouri to Paul Raymond and Shirley June Johnson Chancellor.
She grew up in Rutledge and attended grade school there. She graduated from Memphis High School, Class of 1967. She attended North East State Teachers College, Kirksville, Missouri. She was baptized in the Methodist Church in Rutledge.
Linda lived in St. Louis for several years and has lived the past thirty years in Quincy, Illinois. She worked most of her life as a waitress and was presently employed by Underbrink Bakery in Quincy. As a hobby, she enjoyed working with flowers.
She is survived by her mother, Shirley Ruth of Memphis; a son, Chance James Butler; a brother, Ray Chancellor and his wife, Shirlene, of Rutledge; a nephew, John Chancellor and his wife, Megan, of Downing, Missouri; a niece, Sue Anderson and her husband, Ryan, of Memphis; a great niece, Kendal Anderson and a great nephew, Brayden Anderson. Also surviving is an uncle, several aunts and friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, her father and her stepfather, Ivan Ruth.
Memorial services were held, Saturday, December 29, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Memphis Funeral Home with Brother Larry Smith officiating. Music was provided by Ann Luther.
