Thomas W. Rimer

Thomas William Rimer, 91, of Edina, Missouri, died Thursday, December 20, 2012, at his residence south of Edina, Missouri.

Thomas Rimer was born on January 22, 1921, south of Edina, Missouri, the son of Thomas Jefferson and Dora L. Fleak Rimer.

Thomas grew up on the family farm and attended the Cook Rural School. He was raised in the days of horses and loved working on the farm with all livestock. He raised Registered Angus Cattle and Registered Poland China Hogs and continued until he passed away on the same farm he was born.

He is survived by his sister, Mary Rose Rimer-Smith of Edina, Missouri; along with several nieces, nephew, cousins and a host of neighbors and friends.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Dora Rimer; two sisters, Helen Rimer in March of 1964 and Dorothy in November 1994 and her husband Francis Sweetman ; and a brother-in-law, Ronald Gene Smith in April 1990.

Funeral Services were 2:30 p.m. Sunday, December 23, 2012, at the Doss Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri.

Burial was in the Maple Hills Cemetery in Kirksville, Missouri. Reverend David Howald officiated and Casket Bearers were Richard Shahan, Jim Parrish, Danny Gibbons, Eddie Hicks, Jr., Karl Franke and Bobby Fleak.
