Ruth May Waggener

, age 94, of Edina, MO, died Monday, January 21, 2013, in the Knox County Nursing Home at Edina, MO.
She was born May 29, 1918, at Bible Grove in Scotland, County, MO, the daughter of Oscar and Tonia Cruse Kigar.
She was united in marriage to Howard Waggener on September 6, 1935, in Edina, MO, and he preceded her in death on February 26, 1982. Ruth was also preceded in death by her parents a granddaughter Teresa Kay Parrish and a great-grandson Dalton A. Parrish.
Surviving are two children, Donna Lee Parrish and husband Alvie of Novelty, MO, and James Harry Waggener and wife Elva Lou of Springdale, AR, five grandchildren, James Parrish and wife Joy of Hurdland, MO, Marsha Wolfe and husband Mark of Ft. Wayne, IN, Anita Lee James and husband Leon of Hurdland, MO, Stephen Roy Parrish and wife Heidi of New Sharon, IA, and Jeffrey Lynn Waggener and wife Debbie of Springdale, AR, thirteen great-grandchildren, Aaron Parrish, Janie Bergsneider, Jill Dooley, Joni Anderson, Calla, Leah, and Lynnae Wolfe, Ashley James, Miranda Glasgow, Brady James, Shelby and Chance Parrish, Ella Sue Waggener, and seventeen great-great grandchildren, Faith, Abby, Matti and Emma Parrish, Luke, Bethany, Thad, Clark and Brendlyn Bergsneider, Leighton Kempf, Alysia Jo Anderson, Kaylee and Will Dooley, Lane, Lilah and Reagan James and Hallie Kay Glasgow.
Ruth was a housewife, homemaker and farmed with her husband south of Edina and Hurdland for several years. She was employed at south side Drug Store, Ben Franklin and the Knox County Nursing Home for many years. She enjoyed quilting, wildlife, birds and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Thursday, January 24, 2013, at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO. Officiating the services was Reverend Paul Milliken. Burial was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery at Hurdland, MO. Music was provided by Jim and Marilyn Lincoln. Casket bearers were Jim Parrish, Jeffery Waggener, Aaron Parrish, Brady James, Ashley James, Leon James, Stephen Parrish and Chance Parrish.
