Patricia L. Dodd

Pat Dodd age 76 of LaPlata, MO formerly of Leonard, died Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at the LaPlata Nursing Home in LaPlata, MO.

She was born May 3, 1936, in Baraga, MI, the daughter of Hartley B. and Beatrice H. Wildes Mann. On February 6, 1955, she was united in marriage to Billie J. Dodd. He preceded her in death on September 9, 1981.

Pat is survived by five children, Carl Dodd and wife Sheryl of Leonard, MO, Wanda Dodd of LaPlata, MO, Carol Booth and husband Timothy of Edina, MO, James “Chopper” Dodd and wife Becky of Williamsburg, KS and Dianna Dodd of Kansas City, MO; ten grandchildren, Sapphira (Courtnee) Cole, Billie (Kalli) Booth, Crystal (Eric) Klocke, Brad Dodd, Glen Dodd, Will Dodd, Nora Dodd, Shelly (Josh) Thomas, Lisa (Cody) Maxfield and Ben Dodd; seven great-grandchildren, C.C. Cole, Austin Klocke, Autumn Booth, Alex Booth, Greyson Thomas, Grady Thomas and Calvin Maxfield; one sister, Linda La Rue of Yelm, WA; one sister-in-law Nellie Ann Dodd and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one granddaughter, Katie Lane Dodd and two brothers, Fergus and Leslie Mann.

Pat was a 1954 graduate of Leonard High School and a member of the Cherry Box Christian Church. She worked as a respiratory therapist at the Harrisonville, MO Hospital and as a Med Tech at Salt River Community Care. She loved her work and the people she worked with. Pat enjoyed crocheting, quilting, ceramics, making candy and cooking. Her love for her family was evident in the way she always cared for them.

Funeral services were 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 9, 2013, at the Leonard Christian Church, Leonard, MO. Burial was in Leonard Cemetery.
