CLASS 2 DISTRICT 6 BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT

GENERAL INFORMATION
The gates for the District games will open one hour prior to the starting time of the first game of the evening.
Admission for the tournament is $4.00 ages six and above.
Only persons listed on the Pass List will be admitted free.  Passes issued to MSHSAA representatives will also be honored. The entrance for players, coaches, and administrators will be the front main West entrance to the High School.
Administrators and student supervisors from your school are to be in attendance any time your team is playing in the tournament.
Reserved parking for your team bus will be provided.  A pass gate will be located at the main west entrance of the high school.  The high school is located at the north end of our school campus.
A lunchroom for fans will be provided each night of the tournament.
A hospitality room for cheerleaders will be provided.
A hospitality room for coaches, administrators, officials and bus drivers will be provided.
No pep band, mechanical noisemakers, banners, or posters will be allowed.  Also fans are to remain seated (no prolonged standing while a game is in progress) during a contest and are to refrain from stomping on the bleachers. Please advise your students and fans of this MSHSAA rule.
TEAM INSTRUCTIONS
A host will meet your team at the door and show you to your locker room. They will be there to assist any needs you may have.
CELL PHONE USE IS NOW PROHIBITED IN THE LOCKER ROOM AT ALL MSHSAA EVENTS.
Warm up balls will be furnished.
The top team in the bracket will be designated as the home team and will wear light colored jerseys.  The home team will use the bench to the right of the scorers’ table when facing the table.  The lower team in each bracket will be the visiting team and will wear dark jerseys.  The visiting team will use the bench to the left of the scorers’ table.
The top team in the bracket will warm up and shoot at the opposite goal from their bench the first half.  The bottom team in the bracket will warm up and shoot at the opposite goal from their bench.  All warm up activities must be confined to your half of the court. No jogging on opponents’ end of the court will be allowed.  Teams may not shoot at half time during any game other than the game in which they are participating.
Ten minutes will be allowed between halves and 10 minutes between games.
No more than 15 players may be in uniform for District Basketball games. Players had to have been listed on the district tournament eligibility roster each coach filled out on the MSHSAA website.
Coaches:  It is your responsibility,  if your team wins districts, to get your team photo to MSHSAA following your championship game.
PLAYER INTRODUCTIONS
Prior to the start of each game, the starting line up will be introduced by the public announcer in the following manner:  Each player, when their name is called, should go to the center jump circle and shake the hand of his or her opponent, then go to the free throw line and wait until the line up, coaches, and officials have been introduced. Players then should return to the team huddle for the last minute instructions from their coach.
