Missouri Attorney General Files Suit For “No Call List” Violations

Jefferson City, Mo. – Attorney General Chris Koster today filed a lawsuit against a Utah company for making solicitation calls for medical-alert devices and home security to Missourians on the state’s No Call list. Koster said the suit came as a result of numerous complaints filed with his office from people who received these unwanted calls.

The lawsuit targets Green Wire Ventures, LLC and the company’s CEO, David Lee. Koster is asking the court to stop Green Wire Ventures, LLC from calling Missourians on the No Call list. He is also seeking civil penalties and payment for the investigation and prosecution of the case.

“Missourians place their phone numbers on our No Call list for a very simple reason – they do not want to receive annoying, unwanted calls,” Koster said. “We will continue to take action against companies that ignore our state law.”

Koster reminds Missourians they can sign up for the No Call list on his website at ago.mo.gov or by calling 866-662-2551. He encourages consumers who receive harassing solicitation calls to file a complaint at 866-buzzoff (866-289-9633). Missourians can register their land and cell phone numbers with Missouri’s No Call list.
