Entries Needed for Wyaconda Fall Festival Parade

Entries of all kinds are needed for the parade at Wyaconda’s Fall Festival on Saturday, Sept. 7. Line-up for the parade begins at 11:30 a.m. at the old Wyaconda School parking lot area. The parade will begin at 1:00 p.m. It will proceed south down Main Street and then turn onto Jefferson Street.

Prize ribbons will be given out in several categories, and everyone is encouraged to walk, bike, ride, or drive in the parade. Kids are invited to decorate bikes or wagons or walk with a group. Classic, antique, and new cars, trucks, tractors, and motorcycles are welcome. Fire departments, community groups, churches, businesses, and politicians can enter floats, vehicles, or walking units. There is no cost to enter the parade.

For safety reasons, no candy may be thrown from a moving float, vehicle, or animal. Walkers must be used to hand out all candy or other items.

Horses, mules, and other equine are welcome. Proof of negative Coggins test is required.

Entries must be registered before entering the parade line-up. Contact Lisa Cochran at 660-216-7661 for an entry form.

The next planning meeting for the Wyaconda Fall Festival will be Thursday, Aug. 22, at 6:30 p.m. at Froggies Bar and Grill in Wyaconda. Any donations of prizes for the adult and children’s giveaways would be greatly appreciated. Contact Sandy Stone at 612-381-4800 or any committee member to make a donation.
