Resurfacing Planned for US 136 in Clark County

MACON – Within the next couple of weeks, motorists will begin to see signs going up along US 136 in Clark County for work that is going to be taking place in the near future. The project on US 136 was awarded to W.L. Miller in the amount of $2,047,033.07 and will include a thin lift overlay and surfacing of the shoulders from US 63 west of BNSF Railroad near Medill to MO 27 in Wayland (12.7 miles). Traffic will be reduced to one lane at various locations along the project while work is being completed between 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. A pilot car will be leading traffic through the work zone. Signs at the side roads will advise motorists to stop and wait for the pilot car. Drivers should only enter the roadway when the pilot car goes by in their intended travel direction. Delays should be expected, so please allow ample driving time to your destination. The contractor has 72 days to complete the project.

“Safety is our number one priority, and upon completion of this project, a smoother surface and paved shoulders will allow motorists to have a much more enjoyable and safer drive to their destination,” explained Jeff Gander, resident engineer on the project.
