Della Lou Craggs
Della Lou Craggs, age 82, of LaPlata, MO, died Saturday, March 15, 2014, in the Samaritan Hospital in Macon, MO.
She was born January 8, 1932, in Shelby County, MO the daughter of William Garrett and Nellie Bell Throp Kidwell.
She was united in marriage to Frank Wallace Craggs on August 28, 1949, at Shelbina, MO and he preceded her in death on October 29, 2009. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one sister Florence Carney and one brother Ernest Lee Kidwell.
Surviving are five children, Deborah Clarkson and husband Dr. Norman of Kirksville, MO, John Craggs and wife Cindy of Kirksville, MO, Robert Craggs and wife Jeanie of Novinger, MO, Linda Smoot and husband Greg of LaPlata, MO, and Colleen Lincoln and husband Jerry of Novelty, MO, two sisters Mary Jane Rainey of Clarence, MO, and Genelee Beckley of Macon, MO, sixteen grandchildren, Veronica Kohl, Dr. Wesley Clarkson, Vanessa Robinson, Corrin Parsons, Tanya Rouse, Shona Lene, Kayla Western, Kelle Frederick, Brandy and Katelynn Craggs, Brett and Jeremy Smoot, Lindsey Tiedemann, Garrett, Nicollette and Taylor Lincoln, twenty-one great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Della Lou was raised in Shelby County, MO and graduated from Leonard High School in 1949. Della Lou and her husband lived most of their life in the Novelty community. Della Lou worked for several years as a receptionist for Dr. Norman Clarkson. She enjoyed crocheting, playing cards, gardening, and spending time with her family. She was a member of the Novelty Christian Church, a member of the Perry Sunshine Club and an active member of the Novelty Senior Citizens.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, March 21, 2014, at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO. Reverend Paul Milliken will officiate the services. Burial will be in the Locust Hill Cemetery. Music will be provided by Gary Fagan and Debbie Peters. Casket bearers will be Brett Smoot, Jeremy Smoot, Garrett Lincoln, Brent parsons, Jason Lene, Chris Robinson, Jerome Kohl, Dr. Wesley Clarkson and Troy Western.
Visitation will be held after 4 p.m. Thursday, March 20, 2014, at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO, family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Funeral Home.
