Knox Cattlemen’s Association Hosting Field Day/Pasture Walk Saturday, Sept. 13

This upcoming weekend, on Saturday, September 13, 2014 the Knox County Cattlemen’s will hold a Field Day/Pasture Walk at the farm of Albert Zentz.   This gathering will start at 12:00 P.M. with a light lunch provided, and sponsored by Bill Tripplet. This event should conclude by or before 4:00 P.M. Albert has been a beef producer for over 40 years, and has been focusing on improving his pastures for over 15 years. He has also focused his attention towards breeding a cow that compliments his grazing system and conditions for raising beef in Missouri.

Albert’s farming operation consists of cow/calf and also includes back-grounding his own calves. This Field Day/Pasture Walk is open to Knox County Cattlemen and anyone who is interested in pasture renovating, and rotational grazing. There will be representatives from the MCA, local veterinarian, and University of Missouri Extension Livestock Specialists.

Albert’s farm is located northwest of Hurdland off of highway J. Signs will be posted to direct you to the farm. This event will be held regardless of weather. The Knox County Cattlemen would like to thank Albert for graciously opening his farm up to the Field Day/Pasture Walk.

If you have question regarding the Field Day/Pasture Walk please feel free to contact Ashley James (660) 342-1002; David Clark (660) 216-1107; or James Penn (660) 342-0250.
