Bob Kemp, age 86, of Clarence, MO, passed away on Saturday, December 13, 2014, at the Clarence Care Center in Clarence, MO.
Born March 25, 1928, in Leonard, Missouri, Bob was the son of Thomas Lane and Margaret Pearl Johnson Kemp.
On January 29, 1951, he was united in marriage to Barbara Chapin at Clarence, MO. She survives.
Bob is also survived by five children, Roberta Bichsel and husband, Kenny of Leonard, MO, Rick Kemp and wife, Sharri of Clarence, MO, Rhonda Thomas and husband, John of Shelbyville, MO; Rogena Peoples and husband, Steve of Leonard, MO and Ruth Larrick and husband, John Lee of Macon, MO; fifteen grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren; mother-in-law, Helen Griswold of Clarence, MO; one brother, Bill Kemp of Elkhart, Kansas, and two sisters, Louise Priest of Elkhart, Kansas and Jo Webrand of Matthews, North Carolina.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Robin Lane Kemp and one brother, Jim Kemp.
Bob was a 1946 graduate of Leonard High School and was a member of the Cherry Box Christian Church. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a grain and livestock farmer and enjoyed raising quarter horses. He served on the Shelby County School Board, Macon REC Board, Mark Twain Telephone Co. Board and many other boards. Bob’s love for his family was very evident and he cherished the time he spent with them.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 16, 2014, at the Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Clarence, MO, with burial in Maplewood Cemetery in Clarence. Memorials may be made to Maplewood Cemetery or Hager’s Grove Christian Cemetery.
