George Bonnell, age 77, of Jefferson City, MO, passed away on Thursday, December 25, 2014, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Jefferson City, MO.
He was born January 30, 1937, in Shelby County, MO, the son of Charles Roscoe and Lela Mildred Jones Bonnell.
George is survived by two sisters, Martha Ann Jones and husband LeRoy of Ewing, Missouri and Helen Marie Turner and husband Ernie of Russellville, Missouri; five nieces, Melody Ann Sparrow and husband Keith, Deanna England and husband Gary, Amy Prince and husband Mike, Emily McCarthy and husband John and Brandy Barth and husband Doug and two nephews, Lance Bonnell and wife Missy of Maywood, Missouri, and Sean Bonnell and wife Courtney of Edina, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Charles Leland and Paul D. Bonnell and one niece, Jennette Miller.
George was a member of the Barnes Chapel Church in Deer Park, MO and was employed in the kitchen of Harry S. Truman Veterans Hospital in Columbia for twenty-seven years. He enjoyed painting, pencil sketching, history of Bethel Colony, family genealogy, cards, board games and stamp collecting. He was an avid MU Tigers and St. Louis Cardinals fan. George was very proud of his family, especially his nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services were held December 27, 2014, at the Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Shelbina, MO, with burial in Bethel Zion Cemetery near Bethel, MO.
