STEVEN D. SMELTSER

Steven D. Smeltser, age 53, of Kahoka, MO, died Saturday, January 31, 2015 at his home.

Steven was born September 14, 1961 in Florrisant, MO, a son of Floyd and Mary Alice Pruett Smeltser.

He married Cora Lewis and they were the parents of two sons.

Survivors include his sons, Nathan Smeltser (Alexis Hoppes) of Kahoka, MO and Benjamin Smeltser of Kahoka, MO; one brother, Roger (Kitty) Smeltser of Hamilton, IL; two sisters, Pam (Mrs. Wayne) Wright of Wayland, MO and Kathy (Mrs. Mike) Carr of Keokuk, IA; sisters-in-law, Tina Smeltser of Alexandria, MO and Kathy Smeltser of Sedalia, MO; aunts and uncles: Dick and Faye Ann Pruett of Wyaconda, MO, Dallas and Barb Smeltser of Alexandria, MO, Albert (Kay) Smeltser of Hamilton, IL, Don and Julie Smeltser of Wayland, MO, and John Davis of Kahoka, MO; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Dave Smeltser and Floyd Smeltser, Jr.; a sister, Debbie Smeltser; and an aunt, Carolee Davis.

Steve was a 1979 graduate of Clark Co. R-1 High School in Kahoka and of the Electronics Institute. For twenty-three years, he was an electrician and maintenance supervisor at Riverside Plastics in Bonaparte.

Steve was an avid musician and enjoyed playing and listening to music. He also enjoyed fishing. He loved his children and spending time with them.

Per his request, he has been cremated. A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 7, 2015 at 10 a.m. at the Alexandria Baptist Church in Alexandria, MO.

Memorials are suggested to his family.
