Gladys Hutcheson Tyhurst

Gladys Lucille Tyhurst, of Grandview, Missouri was born September 21, 1921 in Kirksville, Missouri the daughter of Ernest and Rosa (Huber) Hutcheson of Knox County. She departed this life on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at the Crown Care Center, Harrisonville, Missouri at the age of 93 years, 7 months and 22 days.

On April 24, 1937, Gladys was united in marriage to Lewis Duane Tyhurst in Kirksville.

Gladys was a homemaker in every way. She enjoyed sewing, working in her garden, and was a good cook. Later she was employed in the office at the House of Lloyds, Kansas City, Missouri. Gladys loved to travel, camp out west and visit with family.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Tyhurst on June 1, 1979; a son, Richard Laverne Tyhurst; a son-in-law, James Langlinais; a granddaughter, Staci Rae Wagnon Duncan; 5 siblings, Russell Edgar, Ernest Curtis Jr., Floyd Dale, Lloyd Gale and Mary Jane.

Gladys is survived by 5 children, Martha Langlinais, Rosemary Wagnon and husband Tom, Curtis Tyhurst and wife Leta, June Tyhurst and companion John Hancock and David Tyhurst; 10 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Graveside services were held Saturday, May 16, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the Locust Hill Cemetery, Novelty, Missouri.

Arrangements were entrusted to the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri.
