Born on August 29, 1927 near LaGrange, Missouri, Mary was the daughter of Paul and Mae Zuspann Coleman.
A graduate from Ewing High School in May 1944, it was on September 10, 1944 that Mary Louise Coleman became the bride of L. B. Edmonston. The couple celebrated over 51 years of marriage. He preceded her in death on April 17, 1996.
Mary and L.B. operated a service station and café for many years in Ewing, Missouri. Mary and her sister, Oneta Primm did machine quilting for 7 years. She enjoyed bowling, for which she received many awards and also enjoyed fishing, crocheting, hand quilting, and reading. She cleaned the Heetco offices at Lewistown and Quincy. Mary was always available to help others whenever there was a need. She spent many years gathering family genealogy.
Mary accepted the Lord as her Savior in 1952, and became a member of the Assembly of God Church. She had the privilege of serving in many positions in the church, in later years she sang with the Nelsonville Assembly of God Choir for three years.
She served as an Oats bus volunteer and attended many of the events that were offered by them. She also attended REC and Mark Twain Telephone meetings and enjoyed visiting with different people.
Survivors include: sons, Leslie B. and (Rose) of Lewistown, Missouri, Curtis R. and (Charlotte) of Indianapolis, Indiana; one granddaughter, Tina Waterman and husband John; two grandsons, Kedron and Aaron Edmonston; one great grandson Ryan Waterman; sisters, Leta Gaus of LaGrange, Missouri, and Oneta Primm of Palmyra, Missouri; also several nieces and nephews and a host of relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband, L.B., Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter in law Linda (Cordray) Edmonston, two brothers, Harvey and Elmer Coleman; sisters, Verna Stiffey, Ethel Robertson, Maxine Garner, Mildred Stewart and Florence Bailey; and sisters-in-law, Stella (Carl) Edmonston Gottreu and Rosa Lee (William) Edmonston Steffen.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 16, 2015, at 10:00 a.m., at the Ball-Davis Funeral Home in Ewing with Bro. Maneul Shoults officiating. Music for the service was by the Nelsonville Assembly of God Choir. Interment was in Steffenville Cemetery at Steffenville, Missouri.
Memorials may be made to Nelsonville Assembly of God Library Fund and may be left with Ball-Davis Funeral home Ewing.
Pallbearers were Kedron Edmonston, Aaron Edmonston, Ryan Waterman, Paul Stewart, Jeff Primm and Larry Henderson.
