Vivian Mahoney, 89, of Keokuk, IA, died Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at the Montebello Healthcare Center in Hamilton, IL.
She was born July 22, 1925 in Keokuk, IA the daughter of Martin and Irene Lambert Washburn. On December 21, 1948 she was united in marriage to Elmer Eugene Mahoney Sr. in Palmyra, MO. He preceded her in death on December 8, 2008.
Vivian had been employed at Sheller Globe in Keokuk for twenty-five years.
She was a lifelong member of All Saints Catholic Church in Keokuk.
Vivian loved to go camping with her husband. She had great luck on her trips to the casino and was excited to win several small jackpots. Her family meant everything to her and the time she spent with them was priceless. The memories that were made will live in their hearts forever.
She is survived by one daughter, Sherry Buschling-Walker and her husband David of Carthage, IL, one son, John Mahoney and his wife Laura of Keokuk, one daughter-in-law, Wanda Mahoney of Keokuk, one granddaughter, Candy Lovell and her husband Paul of Keokuk, one grandson, Jeff Buschling and his wife Angela of Canton, MO, five great-grandchildren, Megan and Christian Lovell and Renae, Rachel and Grace Buschling, five sisters, Sharon Cockrell of Keokuk, Sheila Kay and her husband John of Keokuk, Ilene Robertson of Keokuk, Shirley Dodge and her husband and Kenneth of Hamilton, IL and Kathleen Boltz and her husband Robert of Keokuk and 1 brother, Patrick Washburn and his wife Sandra of Des Moines, IA and many nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Elmer Mahoney, Jr. six brothers, Martin “Keith”, Anthony, Glen, Carl, John and one in infancy, and three sisters, Ruth, Lucille and Dolores.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Monday at All Saints Catholic Church in Keokuk with Father Lathrop officiating. Burial will be in the Keokuk National Cemetery in Keokuk.
Visitation will be held after 2 p.m., Sunday at Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk with the family meeting with friends from 4-6 p.m. A Prayer Service will be held at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
