Isabel Sue (Price) Peterson

, 83, of Wyaconda died July 9, 2015 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy.
She was born the daughter of Owen Powell Price Jr. and Thelma Beryl (Heath) Price on October 29, 1931 in Clark County.
Isabel graduated from the Wyaconda High School in 1949. She was the Homecoming Queen in 1947. Isabel graduated from the Quincy Beauty Academy in 1950, studying hair, nails and facials. She worked as a beautician, kitchen manager at the Nauvoo Catholic school, and a host of other positions. She also volunteered numerous hours while living in Nauvoo.
She married William Allen in 1950 and resided in Canton, MO. They divorced in 1981. She married Homer “Jiggs” Wallace in 1982 and resided in Nauvoo before moving to Memphis. He preceded her in death on June 26, 2001.
She married Joseph Peterson in April 21, 2002 and they moved back home, to Wyaconda. He preceded her in death on August 14, 2004.
Isabel was an avid animal lover, especially her beloved rescue cats – Tiger, Socks, Jacob and Missy. She was generous to family, friends and her community. Isabel was passionate about cooking, sharing her meals with everyone. Her home was always open and she was a friend to all, never meeting a stranger.
Isabel was member of the Wyaconda Baptist Church. She was an active community member, especially at church collecting donations for the Missouri Baptist Children’s Home along with many other charities and organizations. She was a friend to the local Mennonite community.
Isabel loved researching genealogy, cemeteries, and participating in family reunions.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, nephews, cousins, and a step-child.
She is survived by her brothers, Charles Owen Price of Wyaconda and Donald Eugene Price and his wife, Dolores, of Wayland; adopted son, Frank Mueller; step children, Gary, Ritchie and Tara Wallace, Tanya Allison, Floyd, Steve and Joe Peterson; nieces and nephews Wayne Price, Steve and wife Teresa Price, Melinda Gifford, and Kim and husband Glenn Carson; many cousins, especially Virginia Peterson; great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews from both the Price and Peterson familes; and friends Tracy Russell and Linna Cooper.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, July 15 at the Wyaconda Baptist Church, with Rob Quillin, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Kahoka, officiating. Allen and Louise Fitzgerald performed Beyond the Sunset and What a Friend We Have in Jesus. Tracy Russell, Tyler Price, Tim Price, Michael Justice, Russel Justice, and Joe Dighton served as pallbearers. Bernie King, Jared Justice and Payton Price were honorary pallbearers. Burial was in the Wyaconda Cemetery.
