Fatal Crash North Of Lewistown

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, on Thursday morning, July 23, 2015, Stacey A. Fletcher, 29, of LaBelle, Missouri, was killed in a head on vehicle collision at 7:20 a.m.
Fletcher was northbound on State Route Y ten miles north of Lewistown in a 1999 Mercury Villager when she crossed the center line and crashed into a southbound 1988 Toyota truck being driven by Damon A. Wells, 30, of LaBelle, Missouri.
Both vehicles were totaled and came to rest in the center of the highway following the crash.
Fletcher was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Lewis County Coroner Larry Arnold at 9:20 a.m.
Wells was not listed as being injured in the crash, but two young children, Dustin Wells, 4, and Blake Wells, 6, were seriously injured in the crash. The children were taken by ambulance and the Air Evac Team to Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.
MSHP and the Major Crash Team, the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office, Lewis County EMS, the Lewis County Fire Department and the Air Evac Team responded to the call.
There have been a total of 17 fatal crashes in the MSHP Troop B area this year.
