Dirt Work Begins For New Edina Farm & Home Store

Thursday morning, August 27, 2015, ground was broken for the new Edina Farm & Home store. The new store will be located on West Reid Street, west of Highway 15. The current location, on the east side of Highway 15, will continue to operate until the new location opens.

According to Tony Marble, owner and manager of the Edina Farm & Home Store, construction on the new store will begin as soon as possible.

“At the latest we’d like to be in there by spring,” said Marble. “The new building will be about the same size as the one we have now, but the layout will be different.”

In the meantime, the current location will continue to carry their usual merchandise, but they won’t be keeping a large supply of everything until after the move.

Marble decided it was time to move the store after a flash flood swept into the area on June 25, 2015, and breached the building. The current location was also flooded in 2002.
