Donald Eugene Pruett

Donald Eugene Pruett of Morrison, Illinois, passed away on August 31, 2015, at Morrison Community Hospital.

Services will be at the Pauline Cemetery in Rutledge, Missouri ­­­­­­­­ 11 a.m. Saturday, September 19, 2015. Friends and family will meet at the American Legion in Sterling, Illinois, on Sunday, Sept 13, from 1 to 3.   Don Pruett, only child of Lennie and Elva (Miller) Pruett was born in Rutledge, Missouri, on May 25, 1928.  He was united in marriage to Naomi Johnston in 1946 and to Carolyn Davis in 1971. Four children were born to Don and Naomi. Don worked with his dad on the Sante Fe Railroad as a young man. He had many happy memories of going to Chicago theaters to see all the stars of that era.  He enjoyed spending time with his children, always joking, playing games, and going on trips with them. In later years he did much traveling and enjoyed life in Texas.

Don was District Manager for the Rock Island Argus paper before managing the Missle service station in Geneseo for many years. He then was hired at John Deere Harvester and during his 27 years of employment there became Inspection Special Investigator from the Quality Assurance Services, Combine & Header Manufacturing Division receiving recognition for his renovating ideas.

Surviving Don are his children, Jerry (Saralyn) Pruett of Stewartville Minnesota; Diana Garza of Mesa, Arizona; Phillip Pruett of Hurdland, Missouri, and Cynthia (Gerald) Rensimer of Sterling, Illinois, and a stepson, Kevin Bradley.

Grandchildren include Andrew (JoAnna) Pruett, Alexander (Rebecca) Pruett, Marcia Garza, Carlo Garza, Darla (Richard Carlburg) Mendoza, Marcos (Lisa) Garza, Phylissa Bergert, Fantasy (Shane) Ernst, Velvette (Eric Davis) Cardwell, and Shayna (Kenneth McCord) Cardwell. Great-grandchildren include Theodore Pruett, Landon Pruett, Andre Contreras, Jada Contreras, Katherine Garza, Christopher Garza, Theresa Garza, Elijah Pruett, Benjamin Bergert, Obadiah Bergert, Donovan Ernst, Brenna Ernst, and Kylan Springman.

Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home of Edina, MO is handling local arrangements.
