Minor Injuries Reported In Two Semi Accident

Two semis collided on Hwy. 27 Tuesday afternoon blocking traffic in the northbound lane for several hours. The accident occurred at 3:03pm, about four miles south of Wayland

According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, a 2008 Kenworth with a flatbed trailer, driven by Kory J Feldman of Epworth, Iowa, struck the rear end of a 2015 Peterbuilt pulling a grain trailer, driven by Steve B Brinick, or West Point, Iowa.

Epworth was treated at the scene for minor injuries. His passenger, co-worker Martin Vega, was transported via private auto to Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Brinck was transported via private auto to Ft. Madison Community Hospital.

The accident caused Brinck’s truck to overturn, blocking the northbound lane of Hwy. 27. Epworth’s truck went into the ditch on east side of the highway.
