Darrell PartonDarrell “Corky” Parton, 66, of Troy, Illinois, born September 27, 1949, in Washington, Iowa, passed away Thursday, October 1, 2015, at John Cochran VA Medical Center, St. Louis, Missouri.

Corky was a Veteran of the US Army serving in Vietnam where he received two Purple Hearts.  He was a proud Life Member of the VFW Post 976 Troy, Illinois, Patriot Riders, Troy-Edwardsville Ainad Shrine Club, and the Meridian Lodge #2 AF & AM of St. Louis, Missouri.

“Bub”, as his family knew him loved and cherished his family and the time he was able to spend with them. He loved camping and his friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd “Richard” Parton; brothers, David, Dennis and Rick Parton.

Surviving are his wife Sharon R. (nee Mesnier) Parton of Troy, Illinois; mother, Betty (nee Baker) Parton of Edina, Missouri; children, Darrell, Radonna and Stacie; sister, Bonnie (Vance) Rowland of Hurdland, Missouri; seven grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Mary Parton of Clarence, Missouri, Janie Parton of Memphis, Missouri, Cathy (Darron) Norrad of Maryville, Illinois, Debra (Charlie McKinney) Mesnier of Maryville, Illinois; brother-in-law, Michael (Christine Kemper) Mesnier of Hillsboro, Missouri; many nieces, nephews, great- nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.

Funeral services were held October 6, 2015, at the Richeson Funeral Home in Troy, Illinois, with Rev. Charles West officiating. Burial with full military honors were held at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri.
