William Leonard Moore, Jr., age 73, of Sebring, Florida and formerly of Edina, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, October 7, 2015, at the Gulfside Hospice in Zephyr Hills, Florida.
Born May 18, 1942, at Kirksville, Missouri, William was the son of William L. and Iris (Brees) Moore, who both preceded him in death.
William “Willie or Bill” was raised in Knox County and graduated from the Edina High School in 1960. He attended Northeast Missouri Teachers College in Kirksville, Missouri. He was a member of St. Joseph Church in Edina and a member of the Edina Jaycees.
He enjoyed participating in many tractor pulls with his mini hotrod tractor and was the first to demonstrate mini hotrod tractors in Sedalia, Missouri at the Missouri State Fair Tractor Pull.
On August 8, 1964, William was united in marriage with Barbara Byrn and to this union five children were born.
He later married Linda Marshall in 2002, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Dr. Michael Moore and wife, Ruth, of Land O’ Lakes, Florida, and Steven Moore of Independence, Missouri; three daughters, Tammy Baumgartel and husband, Trent, of Sioux Falls, S.D., Sheri Mathis and husband, Robert, of Independence, Missouri, and Bobbi Moore of Overland Park, Kansas; two sisters, Marilyn Murrell and husband, Robert of Springfield, Illinois, and Janice Garrison of Springfield, Illinois; a brother-in-law, Lonnie Byrn of Kirksville, Missouri; Barbara Moore of Rutledge, Missouri; ten grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two aunts; eight nieces and nephews; cousins; and many friends.
A private memorial will be held at a later date in Florida .
