Cheryl E. Wood

Cheryl E. Wood, 71, of rural Farmington, passed away at 10:05 p.m. Friday, November 6, 2015 at her home.

Born February 7, 1944 at Kirksville, Missouri the daughter of Albert Merle “Dinky” and Eloise Cummings Wilson. On September 19, 1975 at Keosauqua, Iowa she married David E. Wood.

Survivors include her husband David, daughter-in-law Beth Wood of Bonaparte, Iowa, two grandsons Jacob and Dalton Wood. One brother David (wife Cheryl) Wilson of Keokuk, Iowa. Several nieces and nephews. Also surviving are three sisters-in-law: Julia (Joe) Matheney, Janet (Don) Klasing and Nancy (Rich) Ballew.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one son Rick Wood.

Cheryl was a hairdresser for 40 years. She enjoyed fishing, mowing, gardening, being outdoors and spending time with her family and friends.

Friends may call after noon on Tuesday at the Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home in Farmington where the family will meet with friends from 5:00-7:00 P.M. Tuesday evening.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at the Greenglade Cemetery in Farmington with Pastor Goldie Laymon officiating.

The family requests in lieu of flowers memorials be made to the Farmington EMT’s or Hospice of Central Iowa.
