Hardin Rouner Harrington, age 67 of Edina, MO, passed away Friday, February 19, 2016, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.
He was born in Omaha, NE, June 11, 1948, the son of DeVere Loraine and Marjory Rouner Harrington. He was united in marriage to Cynthia Peery on June 28, 1975, at Brookfield, MO and to this union three children were born.
Surviving are his three children Matthew Harrington and wife Mandy of Lincoln, NE, James Harrington and wife Candace of Brashear, MO, and Angela Moubry and husband Chris of Edina, MO, two sisters Mary Lynn Meyer of Owensboro, KY and Sharmon Podraza and husband Ronnie of Kansas City, MO, nine grandchildren, Shelby Harrington, McKenna Harrington, Abigal McGarity, Alexis Harrington, Jaret Harrington, Gabriel Nemeth, Mary Nemeth, Emma Harrington and Aubree Harrington and two nephews, Joshua Meyer and wife Melissa and Nicholas Meyer and wife Brandi. Hardin was preceded in death by his parents.
Hardin was born in Omaha, NE and grew up on a farm in Knox County in the Bee Ridge community. He was a graduate of Knox County High School Class of 1966. After high school he attended Quincy Business College.
Hardin was employed as a truck driver for Husteads’s trucking and later owned his own trucking business. He was presently employed with MFA in LaBelle, MO. Hardin was a member of Greensburg Masonic Lodge # 414 A.F. & A.M. a past member of Moila Shrine Temple in St. Joseph, MO and a member of the Buckaroos. Hardin loved farming and agriculture but his passion in life was his grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, February 22, 2016, in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO. Matthew Harrington will officiate the services. Burial will be in Park View Memorial Gardens in Kirksville, MO. Musical selections will be “If Tomorrow Never Comes”, “Daddy’s Hands”, “Wish You Were Here”, and “That’s My Job”.
Casket bearers will be Tom Sangster, Richard Clark, Ivan Hall, Donnie Hubble, Rodney Freeman, Duane Perrigo, and John Dennis Mauck. Honorary bearers will be Eldon Parrish, Fred Carter Layman, Ed Sangster and Doug Mayer.
Visitation will be held after 4 p.m. with family receiving friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday, February 21, 2016, at Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO. Masonic services will be held at 8 p.m. Sunday evening in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO. Masonic rites will be conducted by Greensburg Lodge # 414 A.F. & A.M.
