Ewing Teen’s Vehicle Totaled In Accident

An accident occurred on Route M two miles west of Emerson, Missouri, at 8:25 p.m. on Monday, February 29, 2016, involving two teens.

Seventeen year-old Cheyenne D. Gottman of Ewing, Missouri, was driving a 2000 Dodge Neon eastbound that was struck by a 2002 Cadillac DHS that was westbound which was driven by eighteen year-old Isaac L. Starnes of Philadelphia, Missouri. Swarnes vehicle crossed the center line and struck Gottman, resulting in Swarnes auto coming to a rest on Rt. M, while Gottman’s car ran off of the south side of Rt. M and struck a mailbox, phone junction box and a fence coming to rest in a field.

Gottman suffered minor injuries and was transported to Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois.

Gottman was wearing a safety device. Swarnes was not. Both drivers were insured.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office and Philadelphia Fire Department.
