Janie Gibbons

Janie Lee Gibbons, age 48, of Edina, Missouri, passed away Friday, March 4, 2016, at home in Edina, Missouri.

Born January 24, 1968, in Kirksville, Missouri, Janie was the daughter of Jim and Jeanette (Gragg) Gibbons.

Surviving are her parents Jim and Jeanette Gibbons of Edina, Missouri; two sisters, Jana Morton and husband, John, of Edina, Missouri, and Jamie Campbell and husband, Chris, of Edina, Missouri; three nephews, Brady and Tanner Morton and Ethan Campbell, and one niece, Kaitlin; and several aunts and uncles.

Janie graduated from Knox County High School in 1986, and graduated from the American Institute of Business in Des Moines, Iowa.  Janie has been employed with Hawkins-Harrison Insurance Agency for the past twenty years in customer service and currently worked in the accounting department as a Fiscal Service Representative.

Janie was a member of the Baring Country Club, St. Joseph Catholic Church and active with the American Cancer Society, Relay for Life in Knox County.  Janie was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and Mizzou Tigers and enjoyed reading, baking and spending time with family and friends.

Janie touched many lives with her contagious laughter, love of life and her enormous heart.  She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 8, 2016, after 2 p.m. with family receiving friends from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri.    A prayer service will be held at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday evening at the Funeral Home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2016, in the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Edina, MO.  Father Colin Franklin will officiate for the services.   A private burial with family will be held at a later date at the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to a college fund for her niece and nephews.  Memorials may be left at or mailed to Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1, Edina, MO, 63537.
