Three Sentenced To MDOC March 17

On March 24, 2016, the Lewis County Prosecutor’s Office reported that three men were sentenced to incarceration in the Missouri Department of Corrections during the March 17th session of the Circuit Court of Lewis County, Missouri.

Eric D. Binkley, age 30, of Lewistown, Missouri was sentenced to two years in the Missouri Department of Corrections for an aggravated Class C Felony DWI offense that occurred in December 2015.

James D. Smith, age 49, of LaBelle, Missouri was sentenced to seven years in the Missouri Department of Corrections on one count of Assault in the Second Degree, a Class C Felony.  Mr. Smith is eligible for release after serving 120 days shock incarceration.  Mr. Smith had been arrested in LaBelle, Missouri in October 2015 for assaulting three different people.  Mr. Smith almost bit the finger off of one of the victims.

LaShawn L. Dixon, age 40, of Minneapolis, Minnesota, was sentenced to three years in the Missouri Department of Corrections on one count of resisting arrest by fleeing, a class D felony, and tampering with a motor vehicle, a class C felony.  Mr. Dixon was arrested by members of the Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Sheriff’s Office after fleeing from the MSHP and wrecking the stolen vehicle near Lewistown, Missouri.  Mr. Dixon was found hiding in a shed after a three hour search.
