Macon Doctor Arrested

A Macon doctor has been arrested following a domestic violence incident in his home.

According to court records, Dr. Chris Main (Donet Christopher Main), 46, of Macon was arrested by the Missouri State Highway Patrol on Thursday afternoon, May 26, 2016

He is charged with Abuse or Neglect of a Child, a Class C Felony, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a Class A Misdemeanor, and Domestic Assault-3rd Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor.

Court records show the incident started as an argument between Main and an adult female. A physical altercation developed, which included her and two minor children. One of the minors was hit in the head with a plastic pitcher, allegedly thrown by Main, and the other minor was pushed into a kitchen cabinet. The child was then kicked in the stomach. A bowl was also thrown at that same minor child.

The complaint further alleges Main followed them into a bedroom and threw the woman and a child onto a bed, and later injured one of the children while forcibly removing them from a car seat.

Main was held for 24 hours and released on $10,000 bond. He also surrendered his passport and has been order to have no contact with any of the victims in this case, or his children or stepchildren under the age of 18.

He will be arraigned before Judge Mike Greenwell on June 21.
