Lloyd Adams

Lloyd Allen Adams, 79, Shelbina, died Sunday, June 12, 2016 at Hannibal Regional Hospital in Hannibal, Mo.

He was born November 11, 1936 in Oakland City, Ind., the son of John Adams and Dorothy Lamon. He married Gladyce “Cookie” Weightman. He later married Evelyn Benaroo. Both preceded him in death.

Survivors include six children, Jan Taylor and husband, J.T. Boise, Idaho, Debra Sutton, Shelbina, Jackie Drage and husband, Douglas, Columbia, Kelly Patton and husband, Jeff, Overland Park, KS, Curt Connaway, Sedalia, and Margie Lorey and husband, Matt, Shelbina; two step-children, Carla Weber, California, and Edward Pena, El Cajon, Calif.; 16 grandchildren, Kyle, Meagan, Danielle, Ryan, Tristan, Katie, Christopher Jon, Ysabelle, Lily, Derek, Shelby, Maya, Nicholas Heidi, and TJ; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Raymond, “Woody” Adams, Washington, and Richard Adams, Evansville, Ind.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Adams spent most of his life in the U.S. Navy for more than 20 years, where he retired as Chief Petty officer. He en-joyed traveling, playing golf, reading, and listening to the music group, Queen. He loved cars, especially Jaguars. Playing with his great-grandchildren was his biggest joy.

Visitation will be held Thurs-day, June 16, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Shelbina. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Inurnment will be at Jacksonville Veteran’s Cemetery in Jacksonville, following the service. Memorials may be made to the American Legion Post 376.
