Vandalism at Henry Sever Lake in Baring

According to the Knox County Presiding Commissioner Evan Glasgow, someone recently drove into the sign at Baring Sever Lake, which broke and damaged the sign.
Glasgow is asking anyone with any information regarding this act of vandalism to please contact the Knox County Commissioners Office or the Knox County Sheriffs Office.
“We have been diligently working to improve the Sever Lake properties over the last few years,” Glasgow wrote in a recent Facebook post. “It is very disheartening to see this beautiful park disrespected like this.”
The Knox County Commission has spent the last two years working on improving the Henry Sever Lake in Hurdland. The majority of those improvements were completed this summer including the addition of a sand volleyball court, expansion of the beach, maintenance on shelter houses and the addition of a bathroom facility.
Similar improvements are in line for the Baring Sever Lake over the next year. It is unclear if the recent damage to the site will have an effect on the planned improvements.
