Betty King

Mrs. Betty King went to be with her Lord after a brief illness, on Thursday morning July 28, 2016, at Olive Branch Methodist Hospital in Senatobia, MS.  The daughter of James Lee and Louise Grace (Ball) Gardner she was born September 3, 1925, at Kahoka, MO. A long time resident of both Memphis, TN, and Memphis, Mo., Mrs. King most recently lived in Senatobia Mississippi, at Providence assisted living community.

A committed believer in Jesus Christ, active in her church for many years, Mrs. King moved to Memphis TN in 1989 to help her daughter and son-in-law in their international mission work, by maintaining a home base for their college age children.  Betty was also an avid golfer, who enjoyed playing the game well into her 80″s.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Mrs. King is survived by her two children,  Mr. Charles King  and Mrs. Ellen (King) Riney and her husband, Sam all of Memphis, TN, five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.  Also surviving  are her two brothers, Mr. Victor Gardner and family of Macon, Missouri and Mr. James Gardner and family of Bryans Road, Maryland.

Mrs. King’s family will celebrate her life in a private memorial time at home.  Interment will be in her hometown, in the Kahoka Cemetery at Kahoka, Missouri.

Madison St. , Memphis, MO 63555.
