Tom Kitch

Mr. Francis (Tom) Kitch of 435 Hickory Pointe, Quincy, Illinois, died at 11:13 p.m. in his home on 08/01/2016.

Born on May 4, 1929, in Steffenville, Missouri, Tom was the son of Iva Mae and Horace Kitch.  He united in marriage with Mary Frances Brinkley on November 26, 1953, at John Golden’s Parsonage in Hannibal, Missouri, and she survives.

Tom was of the Baptist faith. He graduated from Lewistown High School in Lewistown Missouri, in 1948.

Tom had distinguished careers at Gardner Denver and Knapeide Manufacturing, both in Quincy, Illinois.  He also had a small farm in Steffenville, Missouri. He enjoyed working, farming, mushroom hunting, fishing and all family events- especially family reunions.

Surviving are two sons, David Kitch and his wife, Joyce, of Maywood, Missouri, and Mike Kitch of Lewistown, Missouri; and daughter, Marcia Greifer and husband, Curt, of Naperville, Illinois; seven Grandchildren and six Great-Grandchildren.

He was proceeded in death by a sister, Myrtle, and two brothers, Vincent and Harlan.

Tom requested a cremation and no visitation, memorial or funeral service. A celebration of Tom’s life with his immediate family took place during his Hospice care. As a loving and final note, all he requested was that everyone cherish each and every day and savor all of life’s memories of family and friends.
