Mary Alice (Stutz) Massey

Mary Alice (Stutz) Massey, age 74, formerly of Warsaw passed away Thursday, February 23, 2017 at the Montebello Care Center in Hamilton.

Mary was born on November 21, 1942 in Keokuk, Iowa a daughter of Leonard and Berneice Stutz. Mary was united in marriage to Joe Massey on February 14, 1967 in Carthage Illinois. She was a graduate of Clark County High School in 1960 and later received her Nursing Degree from St Mary’s School of Nursing at St Mary’s Hospital, Quincy, Illinois.

Mary was a member of Faith Assembly of God Church. Mary’s talents were many; she was an extremely accomplished nurse, seamstress, cook and trivia intellect. She was a beloved wife, mother, and friend. She enjoyed collecting just about anything but some of her favorites were recipes, coins, jewelry, and books. She especially enjoyed playing Bingo and the occasional trip to the Casino.

She is survived by her sweetheart and husband of 50 years, Joe E. Massey of Warsaw, Illinois; three daughters: Janeen and Jennifer Massey of Warsaw, Illinois and Janice (Michael) McColm of Medill, Missouri; one brother Junior Stutz and his wife, Betty of Kahoka, Missouri; two brother-in-laws: Raymond Massey of Warsaw, Illinois; J.C. Campbell of Marshall Arkansas; three sister-in-laws: Carolyn (Russell) Muegge of Hamilton, Illinois; Marge Massey of Hamilton, Illinois; Dean (Jim) Kelly of Carthage, Illinois; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Leonard and Berneice Stutz, a niece Amanda Faye Stutz, two brother-in-laws: Jack Massey and Junior Massey, four sister-in-laws: Maxine Campbell, Lucille Thomas, Barbara Massey, and Marie Massey.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, February 28, 2017, at Printy Funeral Home in Warsaw with burial to follow in Oakland Cemetery in Warsaw. Visitation will be held Monday evening from 3:00 – 8:00 P.M. at Printy Funeral home in Warsaw with family meeting friends from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. The family would like to express their thanks for the wonderful help and care given by Blessing Hospital. If desired, friends and family may make memorial contributions to the family to help pay for expenses.
