Woman and Child hit by Vehicle on Highway 136 in Clark County

A Clark County woman and a two-year-old child survived being hit by a vehicle on Highway 136 Wednesday afternoon.

On April 12, 2017, at approximately 3:40 p.m. the Clark County Sheriff’s Office and Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to a crash two miles West of Wayland.

The crash occurred while Calove Sackman, 25, of Kahoka, was attempting to remove a 2-year-old child, Toby Davis, from U.S. Highway 136 after he ran onto the highway.

Before Sackman could remove the child from the highway, the child ran into the path of Sara M. McFarland, 38, of Kahoka, who was driving west bound in a 2002 Dodge Dakota.

Both Sackman and the child were hit by the vehicle.

The child was listed as having minor injuries by MSHP. Sackman was moderately injured in the crash.

McFarland, the driver, was not injured.

Sackmman and the child were taken to the Scotland County Hospital in Memphis, MO.

According to information released by Clark County Sheriff Shawn Webster, the crash is still under investigation by MSHP.
