Maywood Brothers Arrested For Attempted Burglary

On July 1, 2018, members of the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office arrested David J Schmidt, age 21, of Maywood, Missouri and Daniel O Schmidt, age 19, of Maywood, Missouri on one count of attempting to commit burglary in the 2nd degree, a class E felony. This arrest stems from an incident which occurred on May 19, 2018. The Schmidt brothers were caught by a local citizen trespassing at an abandoned house near Maywood.Upon further investigation, it was discovered they were attempting to enter the property in order to steal copper.

Both individuals remain lodged in the Lewis County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash only bond each.  Defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
